Braita Creek Clean-Up- Date – June 23-29, 2003

This project took place at one of the main creeks that flow outside Lupeni. This one- week project was the work of 35 dedicated people desiring to see change in their community. Over time, due to lack of education, caring and responsibility of community members, Braita creek became a garbage dump. IMPACT members decided to clean-up a good portion of the creek and to inform community members of the risks and effects that are involved when creeks are being polluted. To this effect, Impact members printed and distributed ecological fliers that underlined the idea that when water quality decreases, quality of life decreases as well and asked community to be better stewards of their local environment. The City Hall, previous Viata leaders and people nearby helped cleaning as well. Special thanks to Lupeni City Hall for helping us with a truck and different tools.
