Programul IMPACT
IMPACT este incercarea Fundatiei Noi Orizonturi de a lansa o miscare nationala de Educatie prin serviciul in folosul comunitatii in Romania. Este un model unic si usor de replicat care combina educatia prin aventura, dezvoltarea personala si munca in folosul comunitatii pentru o crea o puternica miscare de tineret. |

Programul Viata si Educatia prin Aventura
Schimbarea societatii si a comunitatii este punctul cel mai altruistic pe care-l urmaresc programele de educatie prin aventura. Desi scopurile imediate si concentrarea asupra invatarii sunt de a schimba oamenii, impactul final este acela de a face lumea sa devina un mai bun loc de trait prin mijloace micute. (Educatia prin Aventua, cap. XIII). |

Values/Social Capital and Sustainable Economic Dev
At the core of NHF’s strategy is social capital development, expressed in this Vaclav Havel quote: “Without commonly shared and widely entrenched moral values and obligations, neither the law, nor the democratic government, nor even the market economy will function properly.” What is the role of social values development to a functioning democratic system, and how can service learning contribute to this? |

Youth Service Policy
A current global trend is to lobby for youth volunteer policies as part of national strategies for youth engagement and civic development. How do you view this trend? If youth voluntary service is policy, it may no longer be truly voluntary community service, but mandatory. This question is especially tricky for post-communist countries where many of the youth were forced into “voluntary” service clubs and often look askance at forced community service. Yet may there still be benefits of including more youth into modern service initiatives??? |
