NWC Romania Semester (Lupeni, Romania)
Northwestern College, in conjunction with the New Horizons Foundation of Romania, offers a unique semester experience engaging the culture of post-communist Romania. Students will study Romanian culture and history, language, Eastern Orthodoxy, and sustainable development theory, combining these subjects with experiential and service-learning pedagogy among Romanian young people. The program will be group oriented, and include excursions, a mountain backpacking trip, and homestays with Romanian families.
The college will grant 16 credits upon completion of the program, which will include meeting the General Education cross-cultural requirement, as well as equivalents of elective courses in several majors. Contact person is Dave Nonnemacher daven@nwciowa.edu. For more about Northwestern, see www.nwciowa.edu.
