The Global Fund for Children recognized the unique partnership with the New Horizons Foundation in 2008-2009 in advancing the dignity of vulnerable children and youth. Through GFC, NHF has provided funding for IMPACT trainings and volunteer recruitment while also providing funding to sustain the life of the Jiu Valley IMPACT clubs. The IMPACT program offers a chance for youth to continuously improve both themselves and society by completing service-learning projects. Through these projects and non-formal education, youth gain knowledge, skills and abilities in active citizenship, entrepreneurship, employability and leadership - all while addressing the real needs of their communities. The IMPACT program is a means towards advancing the dignity of the youth that participate and those who are affected by the youth’s service-learning projects.
